Russia Shipping Disruptions Fail to Impact Canadian Grain Prices
Shipping from Russia's shallow-water ports on the Black Sea has been restricted due to safety concerns since July 10, according to market sources.
The restriction is a result of drone strikes in the wider area. PDQ, which provides information services and cash grain market prices, reports that shipping disruptions have not affected grain prices in Western Canada.
Average grain prices at various areas in Western Canada are as follows: Winnipeg, $272.50 per metric tonne; Calgary, $274.00 per metric tonne; Edmonton, $270.25 per metric tonne; Regina, $273.75 per metric tonne; and Vancouver, $278.50 per metric tonne.
These prices are as of July 28, 2026, and producers are advised to check with several grain companies for the basis levels in their area.
