Russia Slams US Tariff Threats, Vows Steady Oil Supply to India
Russia's Ambassador to New Delhi, Denis Alipov, has criticized the US administration's tariff threats against India for its purchase of Russian oil. He assured India of a steady and uninterrupted oil supply, saying Russia would be ready to supply as much oil as needed.
The comments come after the US temporarily waived 50% tariffs on Indian oil imports due to a Strait of Hormuz blockade. However, a recent bill in the Senate proposes up to 100% tariffs on top Russian crude and natural gas buyers.
Alipov emphasized that energy markets cannot afford the exclusion of Russian oil and that Russia is interested in supplying oil to India.
