Russia Turns to Foreign Fuel Amid Aviation Production Decline

Russian aviation fuel production has significantly declined due to Ukrainian strikes on the country's oil refining network, leading to shortages in the fuel supply system.

The reduced domestic resources have forced Russia to introduce a temporary ban on exports of its own aviation fuel and rely on imports from foreign countries such as South Korea and Egypt.

According to Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, three tankers associated with Russia's 'shadow fleet' have delivered approximately 70,000 tonnes of Jet A-1 fuel to Russian ports.
