Russia and Ukraine continued to trade strikes on each other's oil facilities and grain export ports on Monday, despite recent talks between US envoy Steve Witkoff and leaders from both countries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the country had struck an oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region for the second consecutive day. The facility is home to some of Russia's major oil refining infrastructure, located about 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Other Russian targets included oil processing facilities in Perm and Tatarstan, as well as a drone launch site in the Kursk region. In response, Russia struck key grain export ports in Izmail on the Danube River and Chornomorsk on the Black Sea.

Ukraine's wheat harvest season is underway, with exports of 433,000 metric tons of wheat, corn, and barley in the week of August 27 to September 2, an 80% increase from the previous week. However, this volume remains below normal export levels.
