Global food prices are poised to surge by over 30% as Russia's ongoing strikes on Ukrainian ports exacerbate an already fragile global food system. Ukraine is a significant supplier of wheat and corn, accounting for approximately 6% and 11%, respectively, of the world's total output.

According to agricultural economics expert Denys Marchuk, the absence of Ukrainian food has already pushed prices up by more than 25%. He warned that if the situation persists for two to three months, the impact will be strongly felt on various continents.

The short-term solution may come from grain supplies in Europe, the United States, and Argentina, but these cannot fully compensate for the deficit caused by the attacks on Ukraine's ports. Experts stress that consumers worldwide will likely feel the consequences of rising prices for staple crops, which could hurt many economies, especially those reliant on imports.

Global food security is at a critical juncture as price spikes in one region tend to spread globally, making it essential to monitor the situation and prepare stabilization measures.
