Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports have driven up grain logistics costs by $50 per metric ton, according to Agriculture and Food Minister Taras Vysotskyi.

The minister warned that costs could increase by a further $20 per metric ton compared to pre-closure levels.

Vysotskyi stated that alternative export routes are still available despite the port shutdown, but acknowledged that logistics costs have risen due to the suspension of port loading.

The suspension of grain exports through Odesa ports has already had a significant impact on domestic wheat prices, which have dropped to one-third of their previous level.
