Russian Terror Threatens Global Food Crisis and Inflation

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky has expressed concern about the potential for Russian terror to trigger a global food crisis and inflation. The conflict in the Black Sea basin is escalating, with ships carrying grain being attacked. This poses a significant risk to global wheat exports, which account for up to 30% of the world's total.

Koretsky estimates that if grain exports are severely impacted, it could lead to $65 billion in annual inflationary pressure globally. He also warned that if agricultural crops follow the trend set by wheat, 2.5 billion metric tonnes of output would contribute about $150 billion in global inflation on an annualized basis.

The prime minister emphasized the need for alternative channels and diversified routes to ensure the safe transportation of grain. He expressed confidence that neighboring countries will play a key role in this effort and acknowledged the importance of staying one step ahead of potential Russian propaganda or actions.
