Russia's Gazprom Assures Sufficient Gas Supplies for Winter

Russian energy giant Gazprom's management committee chair Alexey Miller has assured that Russia and its partners have sufficient natural gas stored for the upcoming winter season. In a letter marking Russian Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day, Miller stated that Gazprom will bring working gas inventories in underground storage facilities to 73.296 billion cubic meters by year-end.

This represents a new all-time high for Russia's gas sector, with the fill level of the country's underground storages currently at 90% of its target. Miller expressed confidence that Russian consumers and trading partners can feel secure about the coming winter period, citing the successful development of cooperation with China and increased supplies to Central Asia.

Gazprom continues to expand its international gas market, with a new pipeline set to begin operations in January 2027. The company has also reported good results in its domestic market expansion, connecting over 1.24 million families to the gas grid. Miller highlighted the significance of the Kharasaveyskoye field in Yamal, which is expected to produce 32 billion cubic meters of gas.
