Russia's LNG Exports to China Surge by 26% in First Half of 2026
Russia has increased its liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to China by a significant margin since the beginning of this year. According to data from the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China, Russia supplied 4,226 million tons of LNG to China in the first seven months of 2026, marking a 26.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The value of these exports also rose by 8.3%, reaching $2.148 billion.
This development is notable, especially considering that Russia supplied a record 9.799 million tons of LNG to China at the end of last year, representing an 18.3% increase from 2024 and a substantial jump from 2015's figure, which was 51 times lower.
