Russia's Motor Oil Market Crumbles Under Ukrainian Drone Strikes
Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries have caused disruptions in fuel supplies and led to shortages of automotive lubricants, driving prices up by as much as 100%.
Prices for some lubricants have risen by 50-100% over the past two months, while delivery times have increased from around two days to two weeks.
Vladimir Andreev, a representative of automotive marketplace Fresh, said that the company is struggling to obtain commonly used motor oil products due to shortages of domestically produced lubricants and imported additives required for production.
The shortages are partly attributed to unscheduled maintenance at Russian oil refineries and restrictions affecting the availability of certain raw materials, including components used in coolant production.
