Russia's Ukraine War Disrupts Grain Shipments, Wheat Futures Soar
Russia's commitment to continuing its war in Ukraine has sent wheat futures soaring by as much as 3.1% on Tuesday, marking the biggest increase since August 28.
The surge comes after weekend talks between US envoys and President Vladimir Putin ended without any sign of progress towards a resolution to the conflict.
An escalation in the war has resulted in attacks on grain terminals in the Black Sea, sharply reducing exports of vital foodstuffs. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he didn't expect a quick end to the conflict with Moscow.
