Ryazan Oil Refinery Shut Down After Ukrainian Drone Strike

Rosneft's Ryazan oil refinery has been forced to shut down after suffering damage from a Ukrainian drone strike, industry sources told Reuters on Thursday.

The refinery's main unit, CDU-6, which can process 8 million metric tons of oil per year or around 160,000 barrels per day, caught fire in the attack and is currently offline. Another primary unit, CDU-4, which can process 4 million tons of oil per year, has also been shut down.

The facility was also attacked by drones in May and July, with the July incident resulting in a two to three week suspension of operations. The Ryazan refinery supplies Moscow with fuel and is a key part of Russia's gasoline output.
