S.Korea, Japan Collaborate on Emergency Energy Supplies
South Korea and Japan have taken their first step in strengthening bilateral cooperation on energy supplies. The two countries met in Tokyo to discuss implementing a supply chain partnership, which aims to deepen cooperation on stable emergency supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG), crude oil, and petroleum products.
The meeting also touched upon coordinating responses to carbon emissions and supply chain due diligence rules, including the EU's carbon tariff. The South Korean Industry Ministry said that both sides agreed to strengthen their partnership and deepen cooperation on emergency energy supplies.
