Sabah's Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced that the state will secure a 40% stake in a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project. The agreement with Petronas, Malaysia's national oil and gas company, is expected to be signed within the next few months.

Hajiji also revealed that Sabah will receive a 20% stake in a new oil and gas field discovered by Petronas off Sandakan. He described both developments as major achievements for Sabah, reflecting strong cooperation between the state and federal governments.

The FLNG project is expected to be a significant milestone for Sabah's participation in the oil and gas industry. Hajiji emphasized that the state continues to attract investors through its investor-friendly policies and remains committed to accelerating development in Kalabakan under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) agenda.
