Saipem and Jan De Nul Sign Letter of Intent for Mozambique LNG Project
A consortium consisting of Saipem and Jan De Nul has entered into a letter of intent with ExxonMobil for the Rovuma LNG project in Mozambique. The agreement covers the first phase of the project and carries an initial value of approximately EUR11 million.
The scope includes limited preliminary engineering and procurement along with other technical services intended to advance project definition and execution planning. The final award of the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract remains subject to the final investment decision by the Area 4 partners and necessary government and regulatory approvals, which are expected this year.
The Rovuma LNG project involves the development of upstream facilities that will deliver gas from offshore Area 4 resources to the onshore Rovuma LNG liquefaction plant. Gas will be transported through a network of subsea pipelines and manifolds.
