San Antonio Gas Prices Surge as Global Tensions Drive Fuel Costs Higher
San Antonio drivers are feeling the pinch at the pump as gas prices continue to rise. The latest figures from GasBuddy show that the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in San Antonio has climbed 12.6 cents over the past week to $3.67.
This is nearly 58 cents higher than a month ago and $1.11 more than drivers were paying at this time last year.
According to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, several international conflicts have contributed to the increase in fuel prices.
Tensions between the United States and Iran, Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have all put pressure on global oil markets.
However, De Haan notes that easing tensions over the weekend may slow the pace of increases at gas stations in the coming days.
