San Diego Gas Prices Surge Again Amid Ongoing Global Tensions
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County increased by 1.6 cents on Saturday, marking its fourth consecutive rise to $5.711.
This surge brings the current price 2.8 cents higher than one week ago, 9.3 cents more than one month ago, and a whopping $1.125 above last year's average.
The upward trend began on February 28, following the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran, which significantly accelerated gas price increases as crude oil prices approached the $90 per barrel range amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
Kandace Redd, senior public affairs specialist at the Automobile Club of Southern California, warned that 'gas prices remain volatile,' advising motorists to explore ways to conserve fuel and reduce costs, such as keeping tires properly inflated and combining errands.
