Santos' Barossa Gas Project Ships First Condensate Cargo to South Korea

Santos has achieved another milestone in its Barossa gas project by shipping its first condensate cargo to South Korea. The 300,000-barrel cargo was jointly marketed and sold with PRISM Energy International Australia before departing on July 24 from the BW Opal FPSO vessel onto the Aframax tanker Boccadesse.

The cargo is headed for SK Incheon Petrochem's refinery in Incheon, where it will be processed into naphtha and jet fuel. This shipment marks another operational milestone for Barossa, following the recent start-up of LNG production at the Darwin LNG plant.

Santos Chief Executive Kevin Gallagher said that the first condensate cargo demonstrates the project's growing contribution to regional energy markets and highlights Australia's energy trade relationship with South Korea.
