Santos Delivers First Condensate Cargo from Barossa Gas Project

Santos has achieved an important milestone in its Barossa gas project, successfully loading and selling the first condensate cargo to SK Incheon Petrochem in South Korea. The cargo comprises approximately 300,000 barrels of condensate, which will feed SK's refineries in Incheon to produce predominantly naphtha and jet fuel.

The shipment is a significant event for the Barossa gas project, marking the first condensate export from the site. This follows the commencement of LNG production at the Darwin LNG plant, which is now operating at 97 per cent of planned rates. The BW Opal FPSO vessel loaded the cargo on July 24, 2026, aboard the Aframax tanker Boccadesse.

Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Gallagher said the first condensate cargo was an important milestone for the Barossa gas project. He stated that Australia is a trusted supplier of energy to key partner countries, and those same partners supply Australia with refined fuels and energy products.
