Santos Ships First Condensate Cargo from Barossa Project

Santos has marked another milestone in its Barossa gas project with the first shipment of condensate to South Korea. The company, along with PRISM Energy International Australia, jointly marketed and sold a 300,000-barrel cargo before it departed for SK Incheon Petrochem's refinery on July 24. The cargo was loaded onto the Aframax tanker Boccadesse from the BW Opal FPSO vessel.

The Barossa project is located about 285 kilometers north of Darwin and is operated by Santos, which holds a 50% stake. Its partners are PRISM Energy International Australia (37.5%) and JERA Australia (12.5%). Chief Executive Kevin Gallagher noted that the shipment highlights Australia's energy trade relationship with South Korea.

The cargo will be processed into naphtha and jet fuel at the SK Incheon Petrochem refinery in Incheon. Santos expects the Barossa project to become a long-term supplier of both LNG and condensate to Asian customers, supporting export revenues and economic activity in Australia's Northern Territory.
