Sapphire Acquires Spectrum Assets to Bolster LNG Presence
Sapphire Gas Solutions has expanded its offerings in the Southwest US and Southern California by acquiring assets from Spectrum LNG. The acquisition includes the Desert Gas LNG Plant in Ehrenberg, Arizona, which has a storage capacity of approximately 100,000 gallons and can produce about 76,000 gallons per day of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The deal allows Sapphire to control the production and supply of LNG, strengthening its position in the region. According to CEO Sam Thigpen, the acquisition advances Sapphire's vertically integrated model, enabling it to provide customers with a unified service.
Sapphire has been growing rapidly, acquiring EDGE LNG earlier this year and partnering with Antin Infrastructure Partners. The company sees significant opportunities to expand LNG solutions in the Southwest US and Southern California, where demand for small-scale LNG is increasing.
