Saudi Arabia Accused of Deadly Prison Strike by Houthi Rebels
Houthi rebels have accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out a deadly prison strike in Yemen, sparking a major escalation in the conflict between the two sides.
The attack, which occurred on September 8, 2026, also hit several oil facilities and utilities in Saudi Arabia's southern region, wounding more than 70 people, according to the kingdom's Energy Ministry.
Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen, said the attacks targeted 'civilian and economic facilities' in the Saudi cities.
