Saudi Arabia Accuses Iran of Attacking Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Saudi Arabia has accused Iran of attacking an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, killing two Filipino seafarers.

The incident occurred on Monday at 23:40 local time (2040 GMT), when the Sidr supertanker, owned by Bahri, was hit while transiting the narrow waterway.

This is not the first time a Bahri vessel has been targeted in the region; in July, another one of its tankers, the Wedyan supertanker, was hit close to Oman's coast.

The Saudi foreign ministry emphasized the need for halting escalations and respecting international maritime safety and global energy supplies.
