Saudi Arabia Accuses Pro-Iran Militias of Launching Drone Attacks

Saudi Arabia has accused pro-Iran militias in Iraq of launching drone attacks on its oil infrastructure, calling on Baghdad to take action to prevent further strikes. The Kingdom's ministry spokesperson, Major General Turki al-Maliki, stated that the drones were launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iranian-backed terrorist militias.

The Saudi foreign ministry condemned the strikes, vowing to respond to the sources of aggression and repel the aggressors. It also urged the Iraqi government to take necessary steps to ensure the prohibition of the use of land-based aggression.

Riyadh had previously accused pro-Iran militias in Iraq of carrying out drone attacks on the Kingdom, reaffirming its 'legitimate right' to defend its sovereignty. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella network of pro-Iran militia groups, slammed the accusations, saying they strengthen their conviction that hostility towards Iraq and its people is an inherent characteristic of the Saudi regime.
