Saudi Arabia and France Team Up on $7 Billion Dragon Ball Z Theme Park

France and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to build a $7 billion manga-themed amusement park near Paris, the Elysee Palace announced on Monday. The project is inspired by the world of Dragon Ball Z, a hit Japanese manga and anime franchise.

The theme park will be built near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris, and is expected to create around 22,000 jobs. French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discovered their shared enthusiasm for Dragon Ball Z during Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025, which sparked the idea.

The project will be financed by Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya, as part of the kingdom's efforts to diversify its economy beyond oil and expand its global footprint in the leisure industry.
