Saudi Arabia and France Unite for €6 Billion Dragon Ball Z Theme Park
France and Saudi Arabia have partnered to develop a €6 billion manga-themed amusement park near Paris, inspired by the popular Japanese franchise Dragon Ball Z. The project will create around 22,000 jobs and is expected to become one of Europe's largest theme park projects.
The development will take place near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris, with financing provided by Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya as part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to diversify its economy beyond oil. The project comes on the heels of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025, during which he reportedly discovered his shared interest in Dragon Ball Z with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The planned development will include three different theme parks and is expected to bring significant investment and employment opportunities while creating a major new entertainment destination near the French capital. Officials have not announced an opening date or construction timeline, but the project is seen as a sign of France's continued appeal to foreign investors.
