Saudi Arabia Faces Economic Pressure Under Yemen's Maritime Blockade
Saudi Arabia is facing mounting economic pressure under Yemen's maritime blockade, which has disrupted shipping routes and targeted strategic infrastructure. The blockage has forced some oil tankers to seek alternative routes, increasing voyage times and transportation costs.
According to reports, Sanaa's forces have targeted three Saudi oil tankers over the past 48 hours for allegedly violating the blockade, while 16 Saudi-linked oil vessels were prevented from transiting the Bab al-Mandab Strait since Monday.
The escalation has also extended to Saudi energy infrastructure, with fires breaking out at fuel storage tanks in Jizan following reported strikes. Damage was also reported in Yanbu, where fuel storage facilities rather than refining units were targeted.
