Saudi Arabia is forming an international coalition to protect its oil exports from attacks by Yemeni Houthi militias in the Red Sea. The Saudi Ministry of Defense met with nearly 50 countries in Riyadh to establish a multinational maritime defense coalition, according to the Saudi Arabian embassy in the United States.

The coalition aims to safeguard key shipping routes used to transport Saudi oil exports from continued Houthi attacks. The move comes as Saudi Arabia seeks to secure its vital energy exports and prevent disruptions to global markets.
