Saudi Arabia Hit by Drone Attack from Iraqi Territory Again
A drone attack on Saudi Arabia reported by the country's authorities is not the first incident of its kind, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense. The ministry stated that three drones entered Saudi airspace from Iraq on May 18, just two months prior to the latest attack.
Saudi Arabia has blamed Iran-backed militias in Iraq for the attacks, with the country's defense minister saying that the kingdom reserves the right to respond at the right time and place. The ministry's spokesman, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, attributed the attack to Iranian-backed militias.
The Ansar Allah (Houthi) military, a Shiite movement that rules northern Yemen, claimed to have attacked three Saudi oil tankers in the last two days. However, it is unclear whether this incident is related to the latest drone attack on Saudi Arabia.
