Saudi Arabia has intercepted and destroyed several drones launched from Iraqi territory towards oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia, according to the country's Ministry of Defense. The attack is being described as a 'terrorist act' by the ministry's spokesperson, Turki al-Malki.

The drones were reportedly launched by Iran-affiliated groups from Iraqi soil, and Saudi Arabia has reserved the right to defend itself and its resources. The country's Council of Ministers issued a condemnation of the drone attacks, calling on Iraq to take measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launchpad for such attacks.

The Saudi government also praised the performance of its air defense forces in neutralizing the threats and expressed appreciation for international condemnations of the attacks. The statement emphasized that Saudi Arabia would spare no effort in protecting its national security, interests, and capabilities.
