Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air defences intercepted and destroyed drones targeting oil facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh. The ministry accused Iran-backed militias of carrying out the attacks, which it described as 'terrorist' attempts to target Saudi energy infrastructure.

Military spokesman Maj Gen Turki Al Malki said the drones came from Iraqi territory and that the kingdom reserves the right to defend itself and respond at an appropriate time and place. No casualties or damage were reported.
