Saudi Arabia Intercepts Drones Targeting Oil Facilities from Iraq
Saudi Arabia's defense system intercepted and destroyed drones targeting oil facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh, according to the kingdom's Ministry of Defense. The ministry stated that the drones were launched from Iraq by Iran-backed armed groups.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, reaffirming its right to respond to the sources of 'the aggression' and deter those responsible.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi ordered an investigation into the incident, directing security authorities to look into Saudi Arabia's claim that pro-Iran groups in Iraq launched the drones targeting its territory.
