A defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan was signed in Mecca on Friday. The pact would treat an attack on one country as an attack on all three.

The deal, known as the 'Mecca Joint Defense Agreement,' aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression. It stipulates that any armed attack against any one of the three states shall be regarded as an attack against them all.

Saudi Arabia has been seeking to diversify its defense partnerships, particularly in light of recent attacks on its critical infrastructure and oil facilities. The agreement also comes amid rising tensions between Turkey and Israel over Gaza and other regional conflicts.
