Saudi Arabia's Strike Against Iranian-Linked Groups in Iraq Sparks Escalation Fears

The war in Iran has taken a significant turn as Saudi Arabia and the US carried out strikes against armed groups with ties to Tehran inside Iraq. The Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), which is accused by Riyadh of attacking its oil facilities, has ignited fears of an escalation.

The PMF is promising to retaliate after the strikes, and one of its factions has given the Iraqi government a week to respond to the Saudi attacks. If it does not, what could happen next?
