Saudi Aramco Delays Jazan Oil Refinery Restart After Yemen Attack
Saudi Aramco has delayed the restart of its Jazan oil refinery due to an attack by Yemen's Ansar Allah movement. The refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels per day, had previously been targeted on August 9.
The movement, commonly known as the Houthis, claimed responsibility for the strike and described it as retaliation for Saudi drone flights over Yemen's Saada and Hajjah provinces.
A fire broke out at one of the refinery's facilities after the attack, but the cause was not disclosed by Saudi authorities. Operations had been scheduled to resume on August 15, but have now been pushed back to August 30.
