Saudi Aramco Delays Jazan Refinery Restart Amid Houthi Attack
Saudi Aramco has delayed the restart of its Jazan oil refinery by about two weeks, according to an alert from industry monitor IIR. The delay is due to a recent attack by Yemen's Houthi militants, which caused the refinery to shut down on July 27.
The refinery, which has a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day, was initially set to restart on August 16 but will now resume operations on August 30. Saudi Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A fire broke out at the facility belonging to the refinery earlier this month, which was extinguished by Aramco's industrial firefighting teams, according to Saudi Arabia's energy ministry.
