Saudi Aramco Seeks Red Sea Route Bypass for Oil Exports

Saudi Aramco is exploring an alternative to its traditional crude oil export route through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively closed due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The company is considering sending more cargoes from Saudi Arabia's Red Sea port at Yanbu, which is outside the Persian Gulf. This would allow it to bypass the congested shipping lanes and reach its customers in Asia.

Aramco typically exports around 7.2 million barrels of crude per day, but this option would require cooperation from shippers and customers, who have expressed concerns about safety on the Red Sea route.
