Saudi Aramco Soars on Q2 Profits Amid Global Oil Tensions
Saudi Aramco's profits skyrocketed by 33% in the second quarter of this year, reaching $33.4 billion. This significant increase is largely attributed to higher prices for refined and chemical products as well as crude oil, despite a decrease in volumes sold.
The jump in profit comes amidst ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, which have led to severe disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Aramco's CEO, Amin H. Nasser, emphasized that the company has managed to maintain business continuity through its diverse asset base and strategic infrastructure, including the East-West pipeline.
