Saudi Certificate of Origin Issuance Surpasses 50k in July
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has seen a significant increase in certificate of origin issuance for exporters, a crucial document confirming products' national origin or acquired status.
In July, the ministry issued over 50,000 certificates of origin, with 47,368 in June and 43,077 in May. This growth is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to support and facilitate non-oil export services across various sectors, including industry, commerce, and individuals.
The certificate of origin comes in four types: for national products within the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, other Arab countries, preferential use by GCC nations with free trade agreements, and a bilingual version for international markets without preferential treatment.
The ministry's digital platform allows exporters to issue and track certificates electronically, aiming to accelerate export procedures, support domestic industry, and contribute to Saudi exports' growth.
