Saudi Energy Facilities Attacked Amid Renewed Fighting with Houthis
Attacks on several Saudi energy facilities caused fires and injuries, forcing a temporary halt in some operations. The Jazan refining complex, which can process 400,000 barrels per day, has been repeatedly targeted amid renewed fighting with the Houthis.
The attacks add another source of supply risk as Brent crude approaches $100 per barrel. Saudi Arabia temporarily halted some operations at energy facilities in its southern region after Tuesday morning's attacks, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
The agency said that several energy sector facilities and installations in the southern region were targeted, causing fires and a temporary halt in some operations. Authorities are continuing to address the repercussions of the attacks and are taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of facilities and personnel, as well as the continuity of operations.
