Saudi Energy Facilities Attacked, Sparking Global Oil Market Concerns
Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure has come under attack, sparking fires and disrupting operations. The Saudi Ministry of Energy reported that several facilities in the Kingdom's south were targeted on Tuesday, causing injuries and temporary shutdowns.
The ministry said specialized field teams are working to contain the blazes and secure the affected sites. Several Saudi citizens and residents were injured, with varying severity, and are receiving medical treatment.
The attacks have raised concerns over the security of the Kingdom's energy infrastructure, which is critical for global oil markets. Brent crude has moved close to $100 a barrel as investors assess the risk of further disruptions to energy production and shipping across the Gulf and Red Sea.
