Saudi Oil Exports Plummet Amid Rising Tensions in Middle East
Saudi Arabia's oil exports plummeted to their lowest level in at least nine years in August, according to tanker-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg, Vortexa, and Kpler. The kingdom's observed crude exports were approximately 3 million barrels a day, down from previous levels. This decline coincides with rising tensions in the Middle East and attacks on tankers.
The drop in oil exports is significant, given Saudi Arabia's reliance on petroleum as a major revenue source. Tanker-tracking data shows that the number of tankers affected by these incidents has increased significantly, posing risks to global supply chains.
