Saudi Oil Logistics Under Threat from Yemeni Forces in Red Sea

Saudi Arabia's oil logistics are once again under threat from Yemeni forces in the Red Sea. According to an American news agency, Bloomberg, Saudi Arabia is being forced to reconsider its shipping routes due to threats from Yemeni forces. The kingdom, the world's largest oil exporter, has been sending oil tankers on long journeys around Africa, avoiding a strait near Yemen at the southern end of the Red Sea.

Millions of barrels of Saudi crude are being shipped northward through the Red Sea, and Middle Eastern shipments are being offered to China for pick-up from a strait near the Arabian Gulf. This is not the first time that Yemeni forces have disrupted Saudi oil logistics; it is the latest in a series of disruptions.
