Saudi Oil Pipeline Attacked by Projectiles

A critical oil pipeline system in Saudi Arabia was struck by projectiles on Thursday, causing fires at pumping stations. According to CNN, citing two US officials familiar with the matter, satellite imagery showed extensive fire damage at one station and a separate blaze sending up thick black smoke at another.

The East-West Pipeline, which carries crude from Saudi Arabia's eastern oil-producing region to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, was hit by drones allegedly originating from Iraq. However, it remains unclear who is responsible for the attack or whether the pipeline itself sustained damage.

There has been no confirmation from Saudi authorities that the pipeline was struck or physically damaged. The incident has raised concerns about the security of oil infrastructure in the region and potential disruptions to global energy supplies.
