Saudi Oil Pipeline Damaged in Strike, Repair May Take Over Month
A recent satellite image has revealed significant damage to a crucial oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia, which could take more than a month to repair and push up global oil prices.
The East-West Pipeline, a key export route for crude oil, was damaged at a pumping station after a strike last week. The Saudi government has accused Iranian-backed militias in Iraq of the attack.
The pipeline damage is particularly concerning as it follows days of renewed missile and drone attacks on southwestern Saudi Arabia by Yemen's Houthi group, also backed by Iran. In response, Saudi Arabia has carried out strikes on Houthi-controlled areas of western Yemen.
