Saudi Oil Pipeline Hit by Projectiles, Fires Erupt at Pumping Stations
A key oil pipeline system in Saudi Arabia was struck by projectiles on Thursday, causing fires at pumping stations.
According to US officials familiar with the matter, pump stations located next to the East-West Pipeline were hit, resulting in extensive fire damage and a separate blaze sending up thick black smoke.
The initial assessment found that the pipeline was struck by drones originating from Iraq, although it remains unclear who is responsible or whether the pipeline itself sustained damage.
