Saudi Oil Pipeline Shut Down After Drone Attack From Iraq

Saudi Arabia has shut down its key oil pipeline after it was attacked by drones launched from Iraq, adding to tensions in the Middle East.

The attack, which originated in a province bordering Iran, damaged the 1,200km East-West pipeline that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz.

Riyadh said it had shut down the pipeline as a precaution after confirming some injuries and damage, but chose not to retaliate following a call from Iraq's prime minister.

The foreign ministry stated they would support efforts by the Iraqi government to prevent attacks on neighboring states.
