Saudi Oil Sites Under Attack by Houthi Rebels
A devastating series of attacks on Saudi energy sites has left the country's oil heartland in flames. According to satellite images, smoke is rising from the Abha Bulk Saudi Aramco Distribution Centre and nearby black smoke was seen near the Saudi Aramco Jazan Refinery following reported Houthi strikes.
The Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for launching drones and ballistic missiles at facilities linked to Aramco in southern Saudi Arabia, labeling it a 'broad operation'. The attacks have halted operations at some Saudi energy facilities, with 73 people reportedly injured and authorities warning of a dangerous escalation.
Saudi authorities stated that the Houthis' actions pose a significant threat, while also vowing to take decisive measures against those responsible. The situation has raised concerns about the stability of global oil supplies, particularly in light of ongoing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
