Saudi Pipeline Shutdown Sends Brent Crude Prices Soaring Near $107
Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, also known as Petroline, has been shut down due to drone attacks on pumping stations in Riyadh and Madinah. The incident occurred on September 10, and the pipeline was suspended on September 11.
The East-West pipeline is a crucial piece of global energy infrastructure, capable of transporting approximately 7 million barrels of crude oil per day from Saudi Arabia's eastern oil fields to the Red Sea coast.
As a result of the shutdown, Brent crude prices have risen to near $107 per barrel, causing concerns for Indian investors regarding energy inflation, trade balance, and potential impacts on domestic oil marketing companies.
