Saudi Trade Surplus Declines Amid Slowing Non-Oil Exports

Saudi Arabia's merchandise trade surplus declined by 10% year on year in June 2026, despite non-oil exports falling 11.4% compared to the same month last year.

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported that overall merchandise exports decreased by 4.5%, while imports fell 3%.

Non-oil exports, including re-exports, dropped by 9.7% year on year, with re-exports declining by 6.7%.

The decline in re-exports was largely driven by a 41.7% drop in machinery, electrical equipment and parts, which accounted for 36.1% of total re-exports.
